The Procrastination Kings

In my class, City Life, we had a group project to do that was worth forty per cent of our mark. We learned about the project on the first day of class and picked our group about 2 weeks later. It wasn't until Wednesday night though that we actually started putting all our information together into a presentation. This was one experience that I will never forget and I will remember never to leave big projects until the last possible day. The first thing that went wrong because of leaving it until the last minute was that I had to get up at 8 am on my day off to meet up with my group. Then we became really stressed out and continued to be for the entire day because we had so much work to put together. It was a pretty rough day to say the least. We didn't even get everything done because of previous engagements some of my group members had. Luckily that night, one of my group members put all of our information together in a PowerPoint that we could show the class.
Thursday was even worse. We hadn't done a run through of our presentation so no one knew what they were supposed to talk about and this was the day of our presentation. We ended up getting together at about 1 pm, 2 hours before our presentation. We ran through it and got organized. My group felt we had a good grasp on it and thought it would go really well, I agreed with them. We were all still nervous though because everyone in our class is older, my group was made up of 4 first year students.
It went fine when we actually got up there though. We instigated some good discussions and everyone seemed to enjoy our presentation. It had everything: a PowerPoint, a video, discussions and lots of facts. That's the mix for a top notch presentation. We ended up being in front of the class for about forty minutes which was the time we were shooting for. I am really glad it's over now though. I will never leave anything that big until the day before it's due again. I definitely learned my lesson.
